Hi Guys

I need to verify the tooth count for a 3.73 gear set in the front of a first gen 4x4.

Is it 41-11

Anybody?

Thanks

I'm asking because I hadn't bothered to count the teeth when I had it apart. I know the math for 41-11 is correct, but I just want to be certain that that is what it is.

I've just converted my truck to AWD and it's binding up when it gets warm. I'm on my second transfer case (know good) and my second front driveshaft.

Yes I've verified that my tires are exactly the same size.

Wow, I bet that was putting it in a bind. I'm can't believe that it would move. Are you replacing thee complete front differential or just the gears? I'll warn you that I've done several of these 7.25 front differentials and they are a real pain to set up. They are much worse that the average rear end.

The problem with these 7.2 IFS units its trying to get a dial indicator on the ring gear to check the backlash. There is a cover on the side with the short axle. You have remove the cover and stick a indicator in the hole to check the backlash. I use a lever type indicator with an extention to check it. Then I have to multiply the reading by 2 to get the right reading. It's a pain. Setting the pinion depth is also a lot of fun.
