Anyone have some painted frame pics, currently mine is in the process of being painted

first coat i used was POR15, best shit ever, but too many people do glossy black. I'm thinking of a metallic flake red after i apply a self-etching primer to the POR15.

so it got me thinking, what has everyone else done?

I am also one of the glossy guys.....but this is POR-15 engine enamel and cleared. Firewall is gloss black engine enamel also, just not cleared yet in photo. Huge difference.

flashy frames have a tendicey to take away from the frame work itself.

black frame ftw

POR15 top coated with POR Black Cote gloss. Of course it got dirty before I got the camera to the garage. I wire brushed the frame with a grinder, cleaned the frame with marine clean and sprayed it with metal ready before painting. Alot of people think por is a joke but between my dad and I this is the 3rd complete frame we have painted with it. Weve also done dozens of other parts with it including the cab and hood of my cabover truck.

in regards to the por15 shit... do you need a spray gun to be able to apply this??? also why not just used some black spray paint from auto store??? or Undercoating??

btw I'm not interested in it being flashy or anything I just dont want it to rust and be black...

ok well if i can brush it on then I'll probably just go with it i just didn't want to be buying paint gun and all the shit that goes with it just to paint the frame...(even though I'd put a damn paint gun to some major work before long...) just trying to keep it simple and low cost right now..

im not knocking the black painted frame, just alot of people do it because you can cover up alot of shit, painted frames will show the extra time that went into your ride, (not that black doesn't) its just a little extra to get the looks!

the red and white ones are sick!!!

and por15 can be either sprayed, or brushed on, though its recommended to be brushed on, because if you don't clean your gun good enough after, that gun is ****ed

Por 15, and the fender wells are done in bedliner tinted with the same paint on the truck. (we were still finishing the truck and everything is very dusty)

its not the frame, but the roll cage is just single stage acrylic I think with base clear. Not sure tho it was almost 2 years ago.
