ok guess it's ok to ask Moog spring Questions here.
I was thinking about puttin some in my 95 blazer but It has the Z85 suspension. which from what Ive read sits up higher.
was woundering if Moogs would lift it or not?

z85 mainly effects the leaf springs being different, but the MOOG 5664 are stiffer than the stockers on any of the s-series.

Anyone happen to know if the autozone brand/others are the same quality as Moog?
Yes, just look for 5664 partnumbers. They are all the same, just different brands.

a few ask me if I had any info on moog springs, most 2wd S10's have either 5658's or 5660's

as you can see from the chart the increased spring rate of the 5662';s and 5664's, this should clear up any confusion whether Moog 5664's are a stock S10 spring (from this chart you see they are not)

Anyone know how the 5662 or 5664 compares to the AIM v6 lift springs?
Or does anyone know the spring rates of the AIM lift springs?
770425 2.5" Lift<4 cyl
770435 3.5" Lift<4 cyl
770625 2.5" Lift<6 cyl
770635 3.5" Lift<6 cyl
give me a day or so and get the numbers for you

Hi guys. New member here, but don't worry I'll introduce myself in the proper place, LoL. I was running the internet looking for suspension ideas for my S10 & came across this thread. Not really up on spring rates, could someone explain how the 5664 springs would lift my S10 over factory ones if they have the same load height? Am I missing something or is it just going to be a stiff ride?

More importantly, what if I swapped in G Body springs with softer spring rates but higher load height? Would I lift, lower or keep the same height with a softer ride if I went with the 5606 springs? I have an 88 ext cab 2wd with the 2.8 FWIW. Sorry to hi-jack this old thread, but I figure someone could be of assistance.

Load height is at the rated load weight, so less load more height, to a point. I'd expect it to be a stiffer ride.

If it has same or more force at installed height it would lift.

Going by numbers above the 5606 at 10.75 inches is in between 5660 and 5662 but will hold just a bit more then the 5662 at 11 inches. (add or subtract .25 of the inch rate to spring force at installed height)

Thanks for replying so quickly. So what I'm taking from this is that the 5606 would "basically" be a factory replacement with a softer ride? This would be great for a daily driver, which is what I'm after. Of course a little altitude adjustment wouldn't bother me at all. I like both ends to sit level.

wrcklsmestiso619 vbmenu_register("postmenu_6921939", true); - i may sound like an idiot but in your signature it says the 3 inch doetsh spindle lift, but what did you do for the rear and if anything else was added in the lift process lemme know cause i love the stance of your truck.

Found this page to be real informative.
http://jeffd.50megs.com/Moog_Spring_Page.htm

It almost does appear that the 5606 would give the same ride height but softer ride & the math adds up on the 5664 springs to give similar ride height increases that I've read about on here. LoL, I think I might have answered one of my own questions. Springs aren't really my specialty if you can't tell though.

Also, who knows how much the stock coils are worn and "sagging". My springs were 15 years old, and they were z83, so when I installed the Moog's, that really brought the front up a bit, actually as high as the rear. but my truck always sat low in the back.
