i been told two different things, some said i Definitely need one, and others said that i only need it if i wanna lay it out.... which of course i can't cause it is an Xtreme, can i get away without the X member or what?

my carrier barring xmember only goes past the frame about 3/8"

Mine is now level with the frame..the horns drug off and the crossmember drug/pushed up

If you really didnt want to buy one, you could probably get away with keeping it. The ears on the side of the member hang down pretty low... but the center of the cross member only hangs down around 3/4" below the frame rails. Now since the X kit hangs down a good 1/2" below the frame, you can either cut the ears off or drag them off. You will still layout on the center part of the x member... but atleast it will help save your kit. But for the cost of only around 50 bucks.. id just replace it.. that way your driveline is safely out of the way.

Just be carefull... you dont want to go draggin to much away and catch that thing on a manhole cover or something. It would not be a pretty site if the X member bent and sent your driveshaft flying..... Once you drag it a few times, and have the ears drug down, keep checkin it to make sure yout not draggin a hole in the center part...

Hey, i am probably gunna put in my SD carrier barring x-member this weekend.. anyone got some pics or a guide as of how to do it and what i should expect? I also plan on putting my SD.com raised gas tank x member in too .. i know i gotta re-route the canaster there.. hm
