I just bought B&M shift+ and im usig HPP3 shift firmness and STill i cant chirp in 2nd.... What gives? I would have thought i was pushing the power to chirp in 2nd but im not even close! It does kick but i thought it would do better.. IS that a clue that my tranny is slipping? i always thought it has but no evident sign yet.

I have a bone stock engine compartment with a rebuilt tranny that chirps in 2nd with out even gunning it all the way down. At least it use to until I put the big mud tires on. I used to love doing that--it definitely turned heads--and telling people its an automatic.

leave the chirping to the birds.

my 96 4.3 auto w/ 116k miles on it will get a little second gear scratch with all terrains, all i got is a msd 6a, k&n drop in filter, and no muffler. when it was totally stock(w/ over 110k on it) it would spin the tiger paws for a few seconds shifting into second.

well i have never chirped. am i lacking serious horsepower or what? I have 215/75/15 A/T Bridgestone all terrain tires.

I know!

Do what I did, buy a truck with a 5-spd! lol My bud. has a B&M kit in his automatic 4banger coughrangercough, and it chirps em pretty good. Amazing what a 4cylinder automatic could do.

When I first bought my truck I could chirp 5th with an empty bed and the stock 15" tires...Now I have 20X9s and traction bars, and I can only chirp 2nd...

A higher RPM stall converter should help...

what gives is that you are buying the wrong equipment for your truck. both of those products are just eletronic BS, and they both just raise the line pressure. combining one with the other is probably confusing it now and it aint gonna do a damn thing for ya. you need a mechanical shift kit, not these electronic plugins. get a B&M valve body kit and/or vette servo. but if you put in the valave body kit, youll have to take off BOTH of those pieces, or else youll burn up the tranny. lata

ok one is chirping in 5th gear. another is telling me these things dont work. I give up what shoudl i do. I just want to apply all that power to my tranny then to my wheels. Everytime it shifts i bogg. I dont want that to happen. someone said a servo? How much are those? Do i have to drop my whole tranny down?

a corvette servo is about 15 bucks and the tranny doesnt come down and also the pan or valve body doesnt even come down. also get a mechanical shift kit like transgo or B&M transpak. you will see a huge difference.

The corvette servo will make a nice difference. It did on my '93. It combined with the B&M ShiftPlus and I was burning tires into 2nd gear (with 225/50/15s.) I bought mine from www.pro-built.net. I think it was like $20 shipped. They are extremely easy to install. You don't have to drop the transmission or even the pan. The servo goes into the passenger side of the transmission. I just got my TransGo kit for my '01 today. I got it from www.kdsperformance.com with the corvette servo and tv boost valve for $94.40 shipped. I can't wait to get it installed.

I was wondering what is the corvette servo and what does it do? Is that its actual name? I was also wondering if the B&M shiftplus helps out any. Thanks

the guy chirping in 5th has a manual tranny. i've personally never chirped 5th, but i've got 4th ONCE and i can get 3rd all the time. on a wet road i can hit 5th and get sideways. but, that has to do a little with my tires almost being slick.

Maybe you have too much traction, which is better than chirping them. I'm bone stock (well maybe a little cartilege on the bone, but no real muscle) and I can chirp 2nd

I think you have slippage like I had.. But I could still spin out though. I don't have to give it full throttle just half and it spins out, I have no mods other than the TB restrictor mod, which gives you 3-400 HP. You should get a TransGo shift kit, or a Superior transmission shift kit, it will fix that slippage.

I got the transgo.. I believe the transgo includes springs and a spacer for the servo.. how is that different from the vette? How did it work for you?
