I tried to gett he starter the crank over tonight and nothing happened at all. All the wires are hooked up and grounded. I do have the secerity lgiht on though, is this what is not allowing the starter to engage? Or what is happening? I need some help guys.

maybe i should get rid of the 2.2 computer completely?

low, I ditched to computer and the harness that runs to he fuse block. I then taped into the factory fuse panel where the starter wires go in to the removed harness. Using a simple connector I plugged my new starter wire in to this.

Probably not making much sense here. I will try and post a pic of what I am talking about later tonight.

lol, yeah a lil confusing. I am sure pics would help bc i am stumped on what to do.

the starter is hooked up witht he right wires. I dunno what is goin on. Is there a way i can test the starter? Also, will the security light that is on effect it starting?

you might need to run a wire from the column to the outside where the starter goes. BTW was the truck a standard at first? if so you need to bypass the clutch

no, it was and is an auto.

I didn't put an alarm on it. And i have no remote or anything for one.

Does a 4 cylinder starter hook up different than the 305 one?

We fixed it tonight. It was a relay or something that went to the old tranny, a purple wire or something. But we had to do some unique wiring. Lol, but it tunrs over now. She should be running sunday.
