Found my front height issue!

My front doesn't lay on my white truck and I have been beating myself up trying to find my mistake.
How I diagnosed: drove all 4 tires onto 1x4 boards in my garage. Then put boards under frame where it lays in the back and a small piece under engine sled.

It laid. Finally!

So that means I'm "see-sawing" somewhere in between those two points on the frame. I already modded the tranny member during the build. Don't have access to a jack or lift for a few days. What could it be? I'm guessing either the ypipe or the Xmember. Anyone else ran into this?

you're notched for tierods or have a LSOH kit right Aaron? if you've never modified your Y pipe before it will def keep you from laying out... unless you air it up and down a couple times and just crush the thing :haha: but I don't recommend going that route..You did the triangle mod on the other side of the X member too correct

I was just double checking. Making sure you didnt put something thicker under the skid plate and where the frame sweeps up

So when you say it doesnt lay- how close are you?

I will come buy the thing for $300 if you decide it's better off as scrap. I would rather hear about you fixing it than letting it beat you like other people have said. Just be patient with it and I'm sure you will figure out the issue.

I would try to figure it out first before crushing this one and building a new one. Who's to say your next truck wont do the exact same thing?

3/8" off the ground doesn't seem like a reason to crush a truck IMO. There's lots of people on here who are farther off the ground than that. We could definitely use some pictures of your truck.

Running drop spindles? Firewall tub'd? Pulled inner fender?

Edit: I re-read your post about the 1x4's under the truck. Can you get a pic under the truck when it's laid out to see if anything is hanging low that may be stopping you from laying out? Pull the front valence off if you don't have enough room to peek under. If it lays out fine with wood under it, then it doesn't sound like the suspension, but rather something hanging lower than it should be.

no reason to scrap this thing. you look like a noob letting this thing defeat you. rip the whole front end apart and and lay it out does it lay?then have a look and what what if there's a prob, put it together starting with you arms, does it lay? then have a look see what and if there's a prob. then re-install bags does it lay? then then have a look and see what's the problem. it's really not that hard.

He said that it will lay if the wheels are on 1x4's with wood under the frame too. If that is the case, then the suspension sounds fine. It sounds like something is hitting the ground before the frame. No sense in wasting time tearing something down when the issue is likely an easy fix.
