After a search I found that http://www.rodney.chalker.com/o2_simulator.htm
had a way to make your own o2 simulator. However, that site is down and I was wondering if anyone has those directions or know how to do it using a resistor.

alright guys i apologize for hijacking this thread for my own purpose but i went out and got an Actron CP9125 pocket scanner for my truck. when i plugged it in lo and behold it was the P0420 still, so i erased it and fired up engine no light but i only ran it about 5 seconds and did not drive (just wanted to see if light would go out) i will take her for a spin once i get some juice in her and report back but hopefully this worked

This trick will NEVER work for a p0140 code, it will only work for a p0420 code. (failure of the cat, not the o2 sensor heater)

Check your o2 sensor grounds

The PCM is trying to find ground through the O2 and the exhaust system for that Tan/White wire. It is also OK to splice into the Tan/White wire hook it to a chassis ground and leave it that way.

I assume the sensor POSITIVE wire is ok but I need to ground the tan/white wire? I hope it's that easy. I'll check if the sensor and wire are grounded. Thanks.

^^^ i used 2 non foulers on my 2000 2.2 flex fuel.i had to drill the one all the way through.had to drill it out to 9/16 to get my o2 sensor to thread all the way in.then the other non fouler was just used as a spacer to get the o2 sensor far enough out of the path of exhaust gasses.

gonna dig up this old thread. I have a 97 4.3 and my cat is rattling to all hell. i want to just get rid of it because it lays on the ground anyhow. my question is which o2 am i supposed to do this to. i have 4 o2's on this turd

I deleted the cat on my 2003 4.3L yesterday.

I welded a straight pipe onto the stock muffler and clamped it onto the rest.

To add the fouler, I'd have to weld in an O2 sensor bung (as everything has been gutted). Would it be better to find a simulator instead, or go ahead and get a bung welded on and do the non-fouler mod?

Either way, this thing has way more power now that the old clogged cat is out!
