I am posting this for a buddy of mine who owns a shop here in town he has built many race car chassis and now has moved on two customs and has built many bagged trucks.

He is building a 2x3 front frame section for an s10 right now. It is built to run stock or any of the aftermarket control arms.

We were wondering if there was enough demand to start producing them and selling them. It would be perfect for s10 owners doing stock floor body drops or who want more hood clearance with a V8.

Here is what you would get:
Front Frame section firewall forward
ability to bolt in stocksteering
ability to bolt in stock core support already drop for body dropped trucks or in stock location
stock or V8 engine mounts
ability to bolt on any control arms for an s10

HOW MUCH WOULD YOU BE WILLING TO PAY FOR THIS?????

Ill have pics up later today of the progress of the one being built now!

considering a front clip isnt needed at all for a bd, and the front horns are one of the easiest parts of a bd, i doubt youd sell that many, considering the cost will be pretty great. also, dont bother to sell any on here without first paying for the advertising rights.

however id like to see pics of what hes building..

your right its not needed for a bodydrop but if you going to have a frame out of 2x3 from the firewall back why not have a full frame and also it would help alot if running a carbed V8 for hood clearance. and i wasnt trying to sell any on here i was asking if people would be interested and how much they would pay so theres no need to get upset

most people build their bodydrop frames out of 3x3, not 2x3. And with a stock frame you can drop a V8 all the way so that the oil pan sits on the ground, so a new front clip wouldn't help you out.

where did it say i was upset? i was stating facts and making you aware of the policies, relax. and it wont help much if the oilpan is already close to the bottom of the crossmember, cant lower the motor any more.

hmmmm thats odd because i know alot of people running 2x3 frame rails just as many if not more than 3x3

dude if the bottom of the pan is already close to the bottom of the crossmember (not the top, the top of mine is already notched), then you cant go any lower with the motor because then the pan will drag on the ground. and ya, i always run 3x3 as well, theres no reason not to.

exactly my point you have to notch the crossmemeber to get the engine that low...i am not trying to argue with you i just wanted some simple feedback on the interest in the producing them and you abviously wouldnt be interested so move on

As you can see its still in the works but that setup doesnt have a drop spindle on it so it will actualy come down 2 inches and give just enough room to run a bag plate with some gussets

how does the bag mount to the frame?

haha its alot harder to get all the geometry correct on the front the rear is just 2 rails with a step up the front has all different angles.

the work looks good, but the plate will only move down 1" with a 2" spindle, since the 2" is gained at the end of the arm, and the bag mounts in the middle..
its all going to work out the bag will mount and have plenty of room i will post pics when that is completed

Re: 2x3 <<<<S10 FRONT FRAME SECTION>>>>>PRICING

that shit looks real good. its mine...and yes i did pay for it.....no it wasnt a waste of money...i had the knowledge to build all of my frame except for that....theres just too many measurements to screw somethin up and have something off 1/16"

Re: 2x3 <<<<S10 FRONT FRAME SECTION>>>>>PRICING

i agree that it isnt just a walk in the park to build, theres a lot of measurements and tolerances to go by. i may attempt it for myself in the future, but the only real 'advantage' is the cleaniless for a show vehicle ya know..

Re: 2x3 <<<<S10 FRONT FRAME SECTION>>>>>PRICING

IMO, for those who are wanting to go 'above and beyond' just wacking off thier frame horns and calling it a day, this could be a great product. But you have to think, most members of this forum just want thier sh!t to go up and down and lay flat. There's not a whole lot of emphasis on how it looks. Also, this is also a purely high end, show quality setup that is for a very specific truck. How many SFBD, V8, w/ a stock hood minis are there? Not a bunch. But to get this setup, anyone knows it's gonna cost you (a bunch of time/money). So that's who's gonna buy it; the guy who wants it bad enough and can't build it. I gotta give props to the fabricator behind the frame table. I don't think there are many that could build a front frame clip and be dead on, including myself :(
