Drove it to an interview, got job, drove it home, snowing now so no work today. I'll shop for a new steering wheel to get rid of the monster that's in it.... any one got a line on an older lumina wheel?

Oh and Mo, did you just purchase your new gearbox from a parts store? or is that one of those "we don't have it they never made it deals"? I think I may go the same route.

I miss my old ones, granted they were the chrome ones, but didm't look bad with the red. Woke up one morning, used my remote start to get the truck warmed up, went out side to no truck. It wasn't in park all the way and slipped into reverse, driving itself right into the side of my ol mans plow truck.

it's a used ZQ8 box and i got it from Phil(deathphoenix99). you can get them at the parts store for like 150 bucks or so but the core charge is like 150 too so have your old one to swap at the counter or be prepared to shell out the extra dough until you can return your old one back to the store for the core.
you can also look for gears at the junkyard out of 3rd gen f body T/A's, Firebird Formulas, GTA's, Z28's, 80's Monte SS's, Grand Nationals and T-Types. all of those cars have quick ratio steering gears (some faster than others) and are a direct swap on our trucks.

guess for now I'll just relash the box I got till I can get to the salvage yard. On a side note when I go any one looking for anything in-particular, something smallish that wont cost an arm and a leg to ship, if I see it I'll grab it. PM me ill keep a list for when I go, and let you know if I find it or not.
Last I went there there were about 7 or 8 blazers and 10 or so dimes of the 2nd gen persuasion.

lol I need one for my own truck also, well just the blower speed switch... Ill see what I can find. If i find just one I'll send it your way, I can live with the faulty fan switch.:rotf:

Looking at these tails, i think with a good coat of tint they wouldn't be bad. the bottom half of my rig is black, so it would fit a lil maybe idfk.

Is it just the gears in the box the interchange with our box or does the whole box interchange with ours and bold right up to he frame.

the whole box. you have to swap the pitman arm for the S-series arm if buying new or used. unless you get a used ZQ8 box, in that case it will already have the proper pitman arm.

today i replaced a leaky fitting. now my tank holds air and keeps air in over night. well it has been for the last 6 hours anyways. and tomorrow i am going to move my rear end over to the drivers side about a inch.

Just got done looking over my driver side motor mount, that I thought was broke, come to find out the back 2 bolts has come out all on their lonesome. The stud on the the front of the mount was holding the weight of the motor and when I tried to loosen it it snapped in the block. So now I need a elf sized ginder, drill, and easy out.
