I just droped my truck 3.5/2.5 and now I need tires. I have stock rims 15x7 (I think) and want some opnions on diffrent kinds of tires. something a little sporty but that wont were out to quick. something that can handle a gravel road to ocasional trip to a campsite.

4/5 drop i ran it on many customers trucks ive done. the 235 60 15 will rub in front on your drop

I dont know if your looking for something that is pretty wide or not, but i ran a set of 215 60 15's on my truck when it was a 5/5 drop and the only time i would have any kind of problems with rubbing would be when i had the wheels turned hard and would hit a bump... witch didnt happen much. The only thing i can say is if your looking for some tires that will last longer, is get all 4 tires the same size that way you can rotate them every few thousand miles to further the tread life. You could even step up to the 225 60 15's at all four corners, but the front may rub a little with the wheels turned...

ok 215 60 15 sounds like a good size thanx for the help. know doze any one have a idea on brands I was thinking for going to discount tire but any help with brands would be appreciated dont forget these tires have to handle a dirt road or trip to a campsite.

I have dunlop gt qualifiers 235 60 15's on an 8 inch rim with a 4.5 backspace with a 3/3 drop, and i have no problems with rubbing at all.... they seem like good tires, though i havent drove in the rain with them yet. best part is they were only 65 bucks a piece at sams club...

Tony (NORCAL STI) knows his stuff. The only note I'll add is, if you have ABS, consider running the same size all around. Sometimes if the diameter is different between the tires, the computer senses them rotating at different speeds during braking and thinks there's a problem with the anti-lock. Then the warning light comes on.

As for brands, I can definately vouch for the Dunlop GT Qualifiers and the BFG Radial TAs. Had a set of the Dunlops on my old 85 S-10 and got about 50,000 miles out of the set and they had great grip on dry pavement. I've currently got the BFGs on my 97 S-10 with about 10,000 miles on the set with no noticible wear yet. For the mileages, keep in mind I have a heavy right foot at times (Both brands make alot of smoke doing burnouts too hehehe)
