i have sony speakers and hu. couldnt be more pleased, no problems at all. i have an alphasonik sub and i really like it. i really recomend alphasonik subs ive heard about four in my life and theyve all sounded really good (not to mention the price) and i love mine. ive heard sony subs and they are cool, i think alot of people bag on bcuz people gotta bag on something. they're not that bad, my best friend had a pair of 12" and they sounded great. he never had any problems.

well it depends... how do you have it wired??? im running mine in stereo mode aka 2 channels... now if i run it mono at 4 or 2 ohms then it MIGHT sound better other than the fact that the speakers themselves are topping out and not the amp :rotf:

i have 2 sony explode 10's behind my seat in my standard cab with an 800 watt american pro amp pushing them.... all i gotta say is i have to turn my amp way down to about half power otherwise my subs get all distorted...
sounds like you don't have the gains set properly.

When I worked at circuit city in Car audio sales, I noticed that we constantly had sony products coming back. Subs and amps frequently and decks came back almost instataneously. We had several cars come back into bays with problems from sony equipment. Thought that maybe we just had a bad bunch of product, but over the course a year, I saw more problems with Sony equipment than anything else. I would highly advise against them, but everyone has their own opinion. There's more out there than just sony, and you don't have to break the bank to get quality products. But if you do decide to go with Sony..... Good Luck! You'll need it.

i had a sony HU for 4 1/2 years with out 1 problem. and it worked fine til the day i sold the car it was in. i got xmas 2000, and worked fine thru june 05 when i sold my car. and the guy i sold it to says it is still working fine.

if you set your gain correctly the you wouldn't have that problem.

That 800 watt American Pro amp probably doesn't put out 800 watts either

it seems like hit and miss. you read some review about how sony sucks, and everyone thats ever had a bad expierence chimes in and makes it sound all bad. Personally, i've had quite a bit of sony stuff and as long as its installed properly, they work fine. The only time i had prolems with my sony amp (1000 watt class D) is when it was in my trunk on below freezing days it would have problems warming up.... thats the ONLY problem i've EVER had...

I'm with him even though I hate the series of sony subs he has, but the P5 subs are decent if you can get them cheap. An install can make a full Sony system sound like ass or clean and smooth, it just depends on how does it.

I got a 10 inch Walmart Sony sub in a roadmaster sealed box being pushed by a 550W walamrt Schoche amp putting out 235RMS. I love it alot!!! Sony makes great stuff in my opinion. They hit hard for the price!!
