I have a kicker cvx 12 in a kicker box. yesterday i unhooked the box and speakers and took them out for a little while so someone could ride in the ext. cab. i put the box in the bed cause we were going right down the road. my power wire for my amp came out when i took the box out. when we got back i hooked up the power wire and sub and it started flexin bad really slow when no music was on. now theres a high pitched ringing noise comin from my sub. any ideas what it can be?

with maybe some mosfets and a soldering gun.
Fixed :)

My guess is that the speaker outputs shorted out on each other and something got messed up inside the amp. No offense but Crunch isn't the highest quality amplifier out there. This leads me to believe that something stupid like this could happen with such a budget amp.

Again, don't take offense that I mentioned it's a budget amp, it's just something I take into consideration.

im gonna try to run my sub off of my friends amp today and if it works like its supposed to, then i know its got to be something with the amp. the amp is a crunch 1400 2 channel for only $100 so it isnt so bad to replace

so i bought a new amp...hooked it up...and it does the same shit. my sub still vibrates when the volume is on 0 and makes a high pitched sound. when i switch the crossover switch to lp/lf??? (or something like that) the high pitch stops but still vibrates and makes a low pitch hum when the volume is off.

i guess ill bring it to a local car audio place?
