turns out the shell failed again

and the pump is bad

 

Hey good to know, err.. sorta. What did you guys do? Did you order the Sonnax shell? Or "the BEAST" shell? I have an extra trans laying around. I maaaaay buy the parts and replace/rebuild the trans.. or just have them PATC build it and ship it to me.. have not decided. Heard the 4L60E is pretty simple as far as transmissions go.. and the 4L60E is just the electric version of the 700R4 trans.

 

we haven't ordered any parts yet this time

last time, we ordered a shell from the dealer and the sonnax p1870 kit

they are fairly simple considering some others i have had on the bench

if you have one laying around, you should just pull it apart so you know what is in there

the bearing and the planetary gearset are all worn on this one
the last shell just stripped like the one in the video

Major oversight on new process 236 transfer case

the transfer case was empty when i pulled the trans

while taking it apart, i had trouble getting the case off of the output shaft

the speed sensors WILL hold the output shaft in

make sure to take them out first

 

if you need another sun shell get the beast

 

dam skippy!

this truck definitely does not need any steels or frictions stronger than stock replacements

i have a stock replacement band and clutches for it

 

also check into getting a kevlar band.

i HIGHLY recommend ordering from them if you need anything else, honestly if you are going through the trouble of tearing the trans appart, you might as well get a master overhaul kit, if not a deluxe kit, and at the very least, a less steal kit, also a good thing to look into is a Zpack, especially for your 3-4 clutch
