Rockford sucks! I've built several systems using rockford subs...the subs develop a nasty lil popping noise. Rockfords quality has gone down alot since they came out if I were you I would go with the kicker.

 

why not eD or RE?

Both Kicker L-7's and Rockforcd HX2's are awesome subs, which you chose is really just preference. If you got 100 people to answer which is best you'd probably be pretty split on the decision, and everyone would have reasons that clashed with others.

Rockford's quality is the same it always was, it's just that they now also carry lower line equipment. Their top of the line stuff is great, as good as it ever was. It's just that back in the day that is all they offered, now they have more affordable lines below their top stuff, and many people think that means they sold out, lowered quality, became junk, whatever.

As mentioned above, there are other subs out there that can match or exceed the L-7's and HX2's for the same or lower price. What's hot today is no good tomorrow. I remmeber when Infinity Perfects were THE sub to have. That was 4 years ago, and since then there have been about 50 subs that have had their glory as THE sub to own.
