OK, so I read a lot of threads in here about 2links, 3links, 5links, parrallel, triangulated, cantilever, watts link, you get it....................so what do you think is the best for a FBSS setup on a s10? This is for my own descision making and also just to see what everyone knows about all these setups on the market today. I know a two link isn't for a FBSS setup. But what are the pros and cons of the others?

LOL.....get ready to hear "Suicidedoors.com 5 link" alot........its prolly the best kit out there.
Yeah, you're gonna hear Thorbecke Bros 5-link a lot. It really is a good kit, no questioning that. It's what I would reccomend and what I plan to run, but in all reality the best link is the link that is best for you. You have to ask yourself what you want. Do you want a weld on link or bolt on, easy install or detailed/custom setup, good lift, good ride, it's all up to you. All that will determine things like how you want to mount your bags, etc.

I got the SD.com Wishbone 3-Link and love it. I would not get anything else. I still havnt figured out why anyone would get anything more than the SD.com 3-link.. I mean, mine rides AWESOME and i have put it through total hell and it hasn't complained a bit.. very sturdy and strong. I havnt seen the advantage of lets say a 5-Link over a 3-Link.. i just dont know what could be better about it.. Especially for the price difference between the 3 and 5 link... like $500+. The 3-Link is perfect. Also, its wishbone so you dont need a panhard bar, thats a big benefit as well..

I have the s10 4 link which is the same as their 3 link just 2 top bars instead of one. Im happy with it.
Actually the bars are longer on the 4 link and you can run bags over bars if you relocate the gas tank or run a fuel cell. The bars are shorter on the 3 link and you can't run bags on bars, because there just isn't enough room. You have to add the 5 link bars to get the levered action and that extra lift. 3 link with bags over/behind axle probably gets the least lift of most kits.

My 5link rides double awesome and is double perfect.

But if I were to do it over again, I would run a reverse 2-link.... :p

I think for the money, a modded cando forward 6 link is the way to go. Once the lowers are shortened and the gas tank is rasied, this link is perfect. Plus is gets almost 14" of lift with shocks. At $750 you won't break the bank, and you can use virtually any air bag, plus there is a ton of more room for putting air management under the bed than with the 5 link. I also like the idea of it being fully bolt on...i can return the truck back to static and install it on a new truck.

Absolute best system on the market is what the C-series corvette has. There is a kit that Vette specialties sells that has a bag set-up yet still has independant wheels on the corners. not cheap. I've seen a couple of shops now that have installed them and all I can say is sweet, sweet, sweet.... but big time doe ray me.

thanks for the relpies guys, keep em comin, but really what will give me some good lift and also be most effiecient (on camber, no - or + toe, no shifting side to side, no hop) I want a good 11-14" of lift but I don't want ride quality to suffer. Also affordability is an issue, but not too much. Someone tell Jason to get in on this thread, I want his opinion. I was looking at the thorbecke (misspelled) brothers 3 link and 5 links, but why go with five instead of three, what do I gain? Also, what's a panhard bar?

The 5 link will get you better lift and a better ride than the 3 link because of how the bags are mounted. That's what you'll gain. As far as lift, you will get about a foot or so with the 5 link. With the 3 link you will only get the height of the bag, so about 7 to 8 inches or so.

A panhard bar is only needed when running a 2 link or a paralel 4 link. It works to keep the axle centered.

A panhard bar is a bar that goes from the side of the frame (slightly behind the axle) and is connected via some type of joint to the axle. it creates a swinging arc to attempt to keep your rear azle from moving left to right. the longer the panhard is the less of an arc.
