Tried to remove the factory stripes from my truck. Needless to say I failed lol.

Does it make that much of a difference to do it? I just looked at mine today and it doesn't look all the great.
Yes, it make a huge difference. Since the Jeep shaft is basically u-joints on both ends of the shaft, there is no slop.

And it is smaller, which allows for more room if you ever do a swap

That front end looks pretty good. Almost makes me want one. But I like my grill more, lol.
i've got another grill if you ever want to change lol. Only got 1 center emblem for now though.i plan on making one out of diamond plate and etching a design into it when i got back to school.

It's also very easy to shave!

I shaved one years ago sitting at the table in my apartment...

If ya look at the pocket that the Olds emblem fits into, it has the same peek or centerline that the face of the grill has...

Cut the inside of that pocket out by cutting into the corner at a 45 degree angle (Since i was working in my apartment i used an X-acto knife that i would heat with a candle and push through the plastic-takes a while tho but isn't messy) you end up with enough material left that it can be a press fit when ya move it forward to glue it in to shave the hole.

I used 3M plastic parts repair kit (it's a two part epoxy) to glue the piece in and to shave the 2 emblem mount holes

hope this helps someone...

went to wire in my secondary lights on my new housings and realized.... theres not a single solid 12V on the front of the truck that doesnt blink for turn signals aside from the headlights themselves... anyone know what wires are what on the headlights? Looks like I'll have to tap into there or route a whole new set of wires just for these lights.

thats one way to do it. I shaved the center chevy emblem off of another grill i had by using fiberglass. it looked good and was smooth.

Put on my Blazer mirrors and Grant wheel.

Gonna start on the interior soon.

I wanted to see how the new ZQ8's would look on the truck with the tires that are currently mounted on them....still have 60-70% tread left.....235/60/16's. They're a bit too tall in my opinion; and the 1" spacers will be yanked when I finally do get them on the truck. That is why they stick out so much in these photos. Still up in the air on what tire size I want to run front and back; since I don't want to zing the motor going down the highway. Right now with the 15" swirls and 205/70's it cruises at 2,000-2,250 at 60-65 mph. I am leaning towards a shorter height tire front and rear.....either a 245/55 or 255/50 on the back, and a 245/50 or 235/55 on the front. Problem is finding these sizes available any more.......let alone in a decent tire. I will also more then likely order the set back plates from JTR since it's even more noticeable with the 16's on. They made a big difference in appearance on my '91 when I put them in in the fall.

Ed, I'm jealous! Those are the only second gen wheels i like more than the swirls!

I thought i once saw pics of your other truck with torque thrust 2s on it - still have 'em?

The 17" Torque Thrusts were on my '91 for the first several years I owned it. I got real hard up for money and had to sell them (property taxes were due). Plus, I got real sick and tired of constantly polishing the aluminum wheels all the time.....living on a dirt road.

btw, I just sold another set of these ZQ8's two weeks ago.....they weren't in as nice a shape as these though. For what I had into both sets I could have bought a brand new set for $100.00 more.......always goes that way.

installed a like-new Kenwood deck thats Blue... to replace my old JVC deck that was Red. I prefer Blue. Now I just need to wait on the new frame for it to come in.
