Do I need to discharge/evacuate the ac system to replace the cycle switch on the accumulator/drier? 2000 s10 blazer. I only ask cuz the part came with an o-ring which raises a red flag in my head. Did a search already and couldn't find a specific answer.

if its got an O-ring its gonna leak Freon....you'll find out when you start to remove it ....

your right s10dude. I did the swap and the compressor cycled a little better but operated correctly when I added a 12oz can of 134 & sealer. If it bleeds down again, I'll do the leak detector. Funny, when I removed the old switch it was literally finger tight, so maybe that was the source of a leak, who knows.
