Strange Brake Light Problem...Need Help

I have a '83 S10 Blazer 4x4 that has a brake light problem I can't figure out. The driver's side brake light comes on but the passenger side doesn't when I brake. I've tested the bulbs and they are fine. When the headlight switch is turned on both work by energizing one of the two elements in the bulbs. The driver's side bulb second element comes on when the brake pedal is depressed but the passenger side fails. Both turn signals work fine.

Can anyone help me? Could a blown fuse be a cause?

I really don't want to take it to a dealer and pay the high $.

check your wiring at that light and trace it back into the harness. it might be damaged or corroded and causing a weak current flow.

I checked the wiring at the light and it looks o.k.

Do you know where the wiring is routed once it enters the body. I don't want to have to removed panels that aren't necessary.

be sure 2 check all fuses, my truck has done that b4.

Problem solved!

It turned out to be a faulty turn signal switch. Replaced it and now everthing works as it should.

It took me a few hours to do but saved the dealership labor rates!
