S10 with four cylinders stalls at idle when fully warmed up

The '87 S10 (4 cylinder, manual) I just bought overall runs really well, the spark plugs looked great on it and it just passed smog with really low HC and CO (almost zero) numbers, a GM rebuilt engine was swapped in a couple years ago.

But I'm down to one last problem.

When the engine is totally warmed up (ie after a freeway trip) it wants to die at idle, you have keep goosing the throttle to keep it from stalling.

I already replaced the TPS, EGR valve, EGR solenoid valve, both temp sensors, plugs, cap and rotor and the MAP but it still has this stalling problem.

I also rebuilt the TB with new gaskets and regulator parts.

The IAC looked ok so I put it back in and I haven't changed the fuel injector.

Does the stop on the TB need adjusting after they have some miles on them?(I haven't adjusted that).

The distributor advance has been set to the factory spec with the ECM in diagnostic mode.

Before its been driven for a while but is pretty warmed up it idles ok but the idle strikes me as being a little low.

Any suggestions on what could be causing this problem?

Well, screwing the TB stop screw in a little further seemed to have fixed this problem.

I put the car in diagnostic mode with my scanner connector and turned the ignition on without starting the car so the IAC would fully extend, closing its air flow.

I then unplugged the IAC connector, started the car and adjusted the stop, which took putting some turns in (opening the TB blade up a little) so the engine would run at a slow but smooth idle, fully warmed up.

Now its not stalling with the IAC reconnected.

But I'm a little confused about this, like later model cars I thought the ECM on this car was totally controlling the idle speed but its seems like that's not the case.

Overall the trucks running really well now, it feels like more HP than the supposed 95 (or is it 85) HP rating.
