Here is a cheap and dirty set of instructions.
1. Pull the wheels, brake drums, brake pads, and other brake goodies.
2. Pull the differential cover and let the fluid drain.
3. Remove the bolt that holds the retaining pin in the carrier. The retaining pin is located in the ring gear carrier and is used as the idler shaft for two of the spider gears. You may have to rotate the carrier to gain access to the bolt.
4. Remove the retaining pin.
5. Push the axles in from the wheel side.
6. Remove the C clips from the ends of the axils in the carrier.
7. Carefully slide the axils out of the rear end.
8. Remove the leaking oil seals.
9. Use the rentable slide hammer and bearing puller from autozone/advance to pull the axle bearings.
10. I used a garden sprayer and a gallon of kerosene to clean the axil tubes, carrier, and other internals. Let dry for several hours.
11. Install new bearings using the bearing and seal installer from autozone/advance
12. Install the new seals.
13. Lube up the bearings with gear oil and wipe the axles in gear oil.
14. Slide axles in
15. Install C clips.
16. Pull axles back out to seat the C clip. Take your time and make sure the clips are seated.
17. Lube up the retaining pin and install.
18. Replace the differential cover and fill the differential with a high quality gear oil. I prefer synthetic oil.
19. Replace brakes and tires.
20. rotate the drive shaft by hand several times to distribute gear oil to the rotating assembly. This ensures your gear are well lubricated since you stripped all the lube with the kerosene.
