im removing the oil pan gasket and each bolt by its direct opposite to prevent warp. removed a couple but it looks like something is in the way of getting the bolts off the drivers side off. pretty sure i have to take it off to get to the bolts, any pointers?

The RTV could be gluing it down? I've done mine.I do it with the motor out.its possible to sneak it out but it'd difficult and requires dropping the oil pump and a lot of on your back work.I do engines regularly so pulling a engine is the easiest way to me.and you can be more thorough in cleaning and be neater just because the room to work.

What ever you do don't use the cork!! Only the rubber piece and RTV,your going to need more than comes in the little tube in a pan gasket kit.I reccomend RTV grey but, whatever you feel comfortable or had good luck with that's you.

You can pull a engine with out unplugging anything.Unplug the engine from the truck. This is literally what I do for a living every day.you don't unplug the sensors you unplug the main harness, unhook the radiator and heater hoses, trans lines if auto and lift.

Drain the trans into a clean catch pan&save the fluid(it's dealer only fluid and costs $15 a quart).then pull your drive shaft.pull your console out remove shifter.disconnect all the plugs&little screws holding the fuel lines to the trans.remove starter.remove both metal flywheel cover plates.disconnect clutch line.remove trans crossmember.let the trans hang.remove all the bolts starting from the top.pull trans off.

If that seems too difficult take it to a shop.there is nothing wrong with either not having the tools/time/experience to do it yourself.sometimes it's just easier to have someone else that already has all those things do it.
