Hey guys what's up. I finally decided to drop my truck and go with a 3'' rear and 2'' front but I don't know what company to buy from. I was hoping to get some tips and answers from you guys. Also should I go lower. If I do the 2/3 drop can I still have 225/75/14's on the rear or will I have to go to a 205/75/14? Thanks to all who help! :racing:

97sdime- When I go to summit online I can't find any kits for my truck. Should I just buy the 3'' block kit for the rear and springs for the front?

You can go with springs, but the better deal will be the spindles. They will help keep your stock ride characteristics and allow you to drop it more in the future by just changing out the springs. Also they will allow you to use your stock shocks.

You might not want to bother with a kit and just buy the blocks ($30) and spindles ($150) now.

actualy spring installs are worse as they change the camber and you still have to undo the spindle any howso no matter what you are working on th spindle why not get spindles and blocks or even spindles springs and blocks and fo 3/4 or4/5 and remove a leaf from the leaf pack....

Well, mine was undrivable when I installed spindles...

thats why they say whenever doing any front end work get an allignment.....

spindles are more likely to come out correct but no guarentee springs are guarenteed to change the geometry up front and change the camber

and i also agree with isofilez if you get spings yer gonna blow your shocks very fast and then you will need to buy new shocks so that should be included with the price of a drop...

WRONG - i have 3 in coils and it DID NOT blow my stock shocks, nor did it change the geometry of my front end. AND I DID NOT HAVE TO REMOVE THE SPINDLE to change the coils....But i know everyone will have their opinions on set ups. and everyone does things different, it all just depends on the cash flow..

No I want to do a 3/4 drop. What should I go with. Who makes the kit for a 3/4 drop? I looked at my truck and a 2/3 drop wouldn't be that low.

To change the coils all you have to do is undo the lower control arm balljoint nut and the sway bar nut that is on the control arm and the whole arm will swing down as long as the shock is already out. I looked under my truck today at my collage and that is what I found out on how to do it.

Well I was ready to tell ya about my 2/3 then you changed your mind.
I'll tell anyway and you decide. I orderd Summit's spindles and
3" blocks. When they arrived, I found out they where Ground Force.
The blocks were angled 2 degrees. You'll want to be sure you get
that so you can keep pinion angle correct. You may want to mark the
driveshaft where it goes into the trans with a grease pencil to see
how far into the trans it went. You don't want trouble there. This
is before and after you drop your truck. Some will say it's not ness.
3/4 play between the trans output shaft housing and the yoke is good.
If you have a x-cab you might want to ck the slip yoke that goes
to the carrier bearing. On the front guys here at this forum have
mentioned l/s lean after coil springs. I don't know about that, maybe
someone else will commet on that.

Anyway the parts from Summit/Ground Force went on real easy, eveything
fit good, and the rear blocks were made of iron not alum. So I feel
that the Summit pc's were decent as well as Belltech..The majority
use Belltech and like them a lot. I'm happy with the Ground Force
product. I cut the 3" blocks down to 2.5 because I didn't like the
rear being lower than the front..Now it's fine for me..

My shocks were blown in the front from me taking sasquatch type bumps at like 70 mph not a good thing unless you enjoy hearing your tire hit fender well. Im about to be bagging my truck soon so if anyone wants my drop shocks for the front PM me they were used for 2 weeks now and probably be another 2 before I get the front finished.

NOT BLOWN and i didnt have to mess with the spindle. some plp do things the easy way, and some do it the hard way..

OK now here is an easy question. Where exactly do the blocks sit for the rear?
