I didn't know my GMC Sonoma Zr2 was also called a "highrider"... I mean, I guess its obvious, since it sits higher...
But tell me, are all Sonoma Zr2's always highriders?
Excuse the prolly dumb question, but I just bought this truck and still learning the lingo of stuff, the the details that make each model/manufacturer unique

Yes. The "Highrider" name badge was the name that GMC used instead of ZR2. I believe some still had the ZR2 decals, which I may be wrong correct me if I am. Still a ZR2 and Highrider are the same thing minus a few details such as color matched flares, sonoma grille, lights, and bumper, and GMC markings instead of Chevy.

i've seen one or two around here with zr2 decals! but yes vielecustoms mentioned highriders didnt come with any decals.

and as br&onsZ mentioned they came with the obvious differences. grille, headlights, badges(GMC), and most with color matched flares! OEM option of having the same flares as chevy zr2's being graphite or black i think were available also!

I've never seen a GMC with non color matched fenders. But then again there is not a very big population of z's in my area. I'm one of like maybe two that are modded. But don't hold me on any statement as they are based off of what I have seen. However I love the look of the painted flares but with the way I am offroad that would just be one more thing to scratch and then have to polish when I got home!

ive seen 2 that matched my black highrider and had the ZR2 decals on the bed. Now the red highrider and the polo green highrider i seen had "highrider" decals on the door where it would say sonoma if it were two wheel drive

MY truck :)

This may sound dumb but was there a GMC Blazer Zr2/Highrider? I have never seen one of them before...

The ZR2 option was never offered with any of the Crew Cab, 4-Door Blazer, or GMC Jimmy (USA) models.

^^ from wiki

i think i read somewhere that they have it in other countries, im looking for proof (the gmc jimmy highrider)

EDIT: got it. it came in 2003 in canada

A ZR2 Jimmy surfaces in Canada. This came as a surprise because it was unavailable in the USA. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RPO_ZR2#cite_note-Jimmy-1

The real important meat and potatoes of ZR2/Highrider is where "ZR2" comes from.
It can be proven by the RPO code ZR2, noting that it has the wide stance package from the factory. And of course all the other goodies.

If you want to see a rare version of the RPO ZR2 trucks, find one that is 2-wheel drive. Yes, they did make some. Their idea of taking on the Toyota Tacoma PreRunner I guess. I've only seen one, and verified the ZR2 package by the RPO code and the 2-wheel drive factory drivetrain from the VIN number.

ZR2 2WD is readily available in Colorado lineup.
