i've heard lots of good things about excessive amperage.
i wonder why you're having all those problems though, i've changed my battery once and my alternator once (stock) and havnt had any problems with my near 1000w system. i had to change the battery cuz i left headlights on 3 nites in the winter and the alternator had to be changed cuz the bearing were squeeling like mad.

 

300w system i wouldn't worry, get a better battery. like an optima. if you were over 500watts-1500watts i could see changed to a bigger alt. but 300watts and under, i wouldnt.

 

I have a 1600 watt system and have an excessive amperage alt, and like it, except that the paint is flaking off

 

hell i have power issues and all i have is an efan, msd equipment, and hid ballasts
