Sounds like you already know what to do. Try the 2.2 engine section for tips. No matter what you do, you won't be beating much of anybody. 2.2's are slow period.

Easiest way to beat "ricers" is to look for the civics that say "DX" on the back...other than that you aren't going to be beating too many modern sport compact cars.

Your truck is rated for 120-hp, so realistically you are putting down 100 or less to the wheels...sorry.

Plus, "new cats" and "headers"? Your engine only uses one of each. No bolt-on mods are going to make the 2.2 a fast truck.

HAHAHAHAHA strap a V8 in it. other then that you will spend LOTS of dough to get the 2.2 faster then a SI civir Integra or cars that came stock with 200 horsepower will yours as stated above has 100RWHP or less stock.with bolt ons if your lucky will get at the most 130 RWHP for the same money you drop an 8cyl in it and have 250hp and up with TONS of torque.

i don't even want to think of the head act of going from a 2.2 to a v8 hhhhhhaaaaaaaaa all the wiring ,getting a different raider , and pounding the fire wall to make room makes my head spin i guess the best thing i could say is race other 2.2 s-10 or what ever the smallest engine in a ranger or just quit trying to beat the piss out of your truck

FYI the Colorado has an available V8 for the last 2 years, but I think only in the crew cabs.

 

I work at a chevy dealer I have only seen one this year and it was a crew so i think your right on that part. they come with the 5.3 ltr

Stock 1/4 mi time for a Ford Festiva was mid 17's at best. Stock for a 2.2 dime is mid 18's or so... Um... yeah... Just a thought.:rotf:
