I have a 1997 Chevy S10 with about 60,000 miles on it. It is a 4 clylinder 5 speed and I have been having clutch problems. When I press the clutch down I have about 1.5 to 2 inches of free play I check the fluid level and most the times it is low so I add some fluid and it will work a little better for a short time. Ive checked for leaks and can't find anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Dan

i had exactly the same problem on saturday, no pedal pressure (only a little bit in the last inch) and definetely no leak an the tranny.

today i replaced the master cylinder in the damn cold weather/snow (too bad if you don't have a garage). all in all about $80 ($55 master cylinder, $20 working light 12V, $2.50 brake fluid). everything is fine now and the clutch pedal is stiff like hell (i've to get used to it again).

so that was the quickest and cheapest solution and it worked fine for me!
