Compressor issues

I pulled the truck out of storage last week and yesterday I noticed that only one of my two viair 480's was working (explains the slow fill time). I found that my 40 amp fuse blew so I anstalled another and it worked good for two hours then blew again. I checked the wiring and it all looked good, anybody have an idea of what the issue is? also there seems to be a lot of air leaking out of the compressor so the truck loses air pretty fast is the comp. fried?

Any help or thought are appreciated.

:haha: Yeah, just keep going bigger until you start melting the wires and catch the truck on fire!!!

Seriously though, def replace the check valve. As far as the electrical part of it, I am not sure why it would be blowing the fuses if the wiring itself is not grounding out or anything. Maybe something internally on the compressor has gone bad? Not sure...

I'd change out the leader hose to get a new check valve on the compressor first. Sounds like you're blowing fuses from a high amperage restart, which happens when the compressor starts against a load. A partially functioning check valve could work part of the time, then stop working - which would do exactly what you describe.
