Check valve may b out, try a bigger fuse maybe

 

:haha: Yeah, just keep going bigger until you start melting the wires and catch the truck on fire!!!

Seriously though, def replace the check valve. As far as the electrical part of it, I am not sure why it would be blowing the fuses if the wiring itself is not grounding out or anything. Maybe something internally on the compressor has gone bad? Not sure...

 

I will be getting a check valve... a 40amp fuse should be sufficient.. i dont want to go higher because I only have 40 amp relays.

how old are the compressors? if past warranty take the head off the motor and look at teh brushs ive seen some of the wire going to the brushs short out and melt the wires. post pics people will help ya see whats wrong.

 

I'd change out the leader hose to get a new check valve on the compressor first. Sounds like you're blowing fuses from a high amperage restart, which happens when the compressor starts against a load. A partially functioning check valve could work part of the time, then stop working - which would do exactly what you describe.
