I'm a cheapo, and im looking to do a cheap body lift. i can get all the bolts, extend what needs to be extended etc, but could i use some 4x4 3'' pressure treated wood and drill a hole in the middle and mount it up and use it? what about 3 hockey pucks on top of each other? whats the safest route to go? i might get the kit if its a last resort but id like to know if this would work first. thanks.

i wouldn't go anywhere near that truck and I don't think your insurance company or the cops would like it very much if u ever got into an accident plus like blazer said wood will split.

Yeah I'd use wood, rough cut thou. Its softer, it won't split. Make the cab ones a little taller than the beds, the weight will crush them to make them even.

id use some old campbells soup cans, put the bolts in ahead of time and make sure they are centered when the quick drying cement sets up..... and leave the lables on for sure... id say some cramy tomato would look good. maybe some chicken noodle, but dont use split pea they are not as solid...

A hockey puck lift works fine. Like others have said wood is a very bad idea but most have ignored the other option you mentioned.

Hockey pucks have been used a lot to body lift vehicles. They work absolutely fine.

With that said. Keep the height within reason. You mentioned 3" and thats the extreme I would take it. I dont like anything bigger then 2" with a bodylift but thats just me personally.

thank god.

wood bad idea. i remember my dad and his buddies tellin me that wood use to be the way they did it back in the 70's and ish. but now days with this technoligy we have i wouldnt dream it. Hockey Pucks??? are you effin serious. Idc how "safe" you think it would be... I wouldnt dare drive a truck that is bl with hockey pucks.

Imo instead of tryin to save money, save your life and buy the real deal.

ya send em some good old canadian hockey pucks maybe thats why we are better at hockey better rubber pucks they don't have as much give when someone hits it.

#34 ·
pucks are made of vulcanized rubber...once they reach of cracking they will split alot easier but they will work good for bit if you dont forget their down there. just gotta check and replace

now i have never bought a hockey puck but he said stack three on top of each other and 3x10 is 30 and lets just assume they are $2 each thats $60 then u have to buy bolts wivh will run u about $30 thats a grand total of $90 and u can buy the actual kit for like $100 why wast the time and effort in drilling 30 pucks for $10

BUT lift blocks ARENT made out of rubber. go figure.

ROFL!!!!!:rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf:

Idc how strong Candian/Russian/British/Irish or any freakin hockey pucks are they are made for HOCKEY!!!!!!! And lift blocks are made for lifting vehicles. Wow I cant believe some of you people are actually sayin its ok for someone to lift a truck this way.

To each his own i guess wtfever it dont matter you wanna drive a death trap ridin on hockey pucks go ahead. and why dont you let them add that in at your funeral when your "lift pucks" snap and you wreck because of it.

FREAKIN STUPID. Southerns aint the brightest crayons in the box but damn atleast we know better.
