Auto to 5 speed swap questions

So my trans crapped out Sunday night. :( My truck is an 02, 4.3L, 2 wheel drive with about 94k on the clock, and I had it rebuild under warranty at the dealer at 30k. I wanna swap about the 4L for a 5 speed but I have a couple questions.

First being, is the tranny crossmember for an auto and 5 speed the same or will I need a different one?

Second, obviously the 4L is computer controlled shifted, can I leave the computer in and deal with a MIL light, or will I need a computer out of a 5 speed truck?

Third, will the bellhousing bolt up to the 5 speed, or is there some kind of difference between the two?

And forth, the lengths of the trans are the same right? I won't need to get a different drive shaft if I go for a 5 speed will I?

I think that's about it. I'm hoping to get this started later in the week. Any help or information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

i pulled a trans cross member from my 5 speed and a buddy's auto and they were the same.
if you can find someone with a 5 speed truck with all your same options sure can have your comp flashed with that vin#
not sure on the driveshafts.
if i was going to go through that kind of swap. i would do a t56 6 speed instead. the nv3500 that come with the 4.3 trucks are not that great really.

no you dont have to change the computer. i did this swap. the hardest thing about this swap is putting the clutch pedal in. i bought a 5spd s10 to get the parts from it. mine is 4wd and my lengths were fine. it bolts right up to the 4.3 after you put in a pilot bearing, flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing.
