What engine?

 

Engine type would help... I'm guessing it's a 2.2L by the mention of a fuel rail.

 

Sorry, yes its a 2.2L

 

You might be able to get the rail off by itself, but the manifold will probably need to be cleaned out as well. That area is much easier to work in on trucks without AC.

 

Ive been trying to pull the rail. But I think im going to pull the intake aswell and check the gasket. But definitely yes IT IS TIGHT!!!!! (truck has A/C)
I dont see how i will be able to do it without lifting the motor.

Any tips?

 

Not sure, I did it without lifting the motor though. Being skinny helps, lol.

 

I removed the A/C box. That should help alot.

 

Lol, yes that should do it. It's possible without doing that though, just tight.

 

It's definitely tight, I did most of the work thru the wheel well. If you are taking off the intake, it can't hurt to get a new gasket.

 

Oh yes, my intake gasket was toast! I dont know how it was running so good.

Glad I took the left side of the AC box off. It was FULL of leaves.

FYI, anyone needing to remove the (plastic) intake on a 2.2L with AC, pull the AC box. At least the engine side of it. Makes the intake install SOOO much easier.
