yes it will work. I have run both pcms in my truck with the same os loaded in both of them.

The 896 were used in all lsx based vehicles from 99-2000 the 411 was used 2001-2002 then in 2003 they changed to the "Blue/Green" pcm which changed numbers every year but all the OS's are interchangeable for drive by wire. If you want to run cable throttle on the "Blue/Green" you need to make sure it has IAC drivers installed which are only in half of the service numbers.

another thing to add - if you were using a 98+ truck you would want to use a truck os because the car os does not comunicate with the bcm properly. I had lots of troubles with this when I first started driving my truck.

Moon,
Do you happen to have the diagrams for the iat, and maf sensors. Those two plugs were cut from my harness. I think I know what needs to be fixed, diagrams would be great if you can get them.
Thanks,
Kory

if I sent you the engine controls harness for the 5.3, the connector and wire colors should be on them. Let me know if hthere not.

I've been kicking around the idea of putting a 5.3 in my 2.2L truck. I've been running into issue after issue with the drive train and almost have myself convinced to just replace it altogether.

I would like 5.3/T56

Can a 5.3 harness be re-pinned/modified to work in a 2.2 truck?

You can absolutely repin a 5.3 harness to work in a 2.2 s10. Using the diagrams in this thread, I have almost finished doing exactly that.
There is alot of great info here. The process is time consuming, but not really hard.

I added wiring for the reverse lights, and the reverse lockout. Use the above diagram for an fbody ls/t56 to figure that out. it's pretty easy.

I'm down to one last circuit. connector c100 pin N circuit 241. It gets fused ignition voltage. I can't find any diagrams for this circuit. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Has anyone else converted a truck harness and swapped to a t56 as well? I have my harness plugged in and would like to fire the motor, just to hear it run for a few seconds to boost my interest in this project. I am still using a 2000 truck computer that was set up for a 4l60e. I know the vats will kill the fuel pump, but will the lack of an automatic neutral safety switch keep the purple starter wire from becoming hot in a cranking situation?
Thanks for any info you can provide.

here are the wire diagrams for 3 vehicles

2000 s10 manual trans
2000 silverado both styles of trans
2002 camaro both styles

see if these will help you out. there in order of the list above. These should give you a better idea on how to crank it up, the trucks seem much easier as they dont go through the BCM like the camaro.

Moon,
Do you happen to have the wiring diagram for a 99 s10 bcm? I have my truck running, but my gauges don't work. I've traced the serial data wiring from the ecm to the bcm I think it's circuit 710. I have continuity from the pcm plug to the bcm plug, but no gauges.
It's driving me crazy.
Any info would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
Kory

No. the only gauge that seems to move is the water temp.

check the gauge fuse by the door. the oil pressure gauge is separate from the bcm so that isn't your issue
