98 lift advice

So I have a 4.3 98 ext cab that I will be lifting pretty soon and I would really like some advice from you guys who have already been through this

My truck looks like crap right now. Stock height (front way lower than rear which I dislike very much), and really small wheels. I want it taller with a wider stance

Spindles - I'm (planning on) getting these spindles off of ebay that are supposedly "chassistech?" somethin like that. Here's a link to em.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...rs/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370342020051&fromMakeTrack=true#ht_864wt_1165

Shackles - 2" lift shackles from 3leaffab on ebay
The rear of my truck already sits alot higher than the front so a 3/2 (is that backwards?) lift should level it out, right?

Tires - I want to keep the stock swirlies I have right now (which I believe are 15x8... I could be wrong though) and put some "beefier" tires on em. But I'm not exactly sure what size to look for. I see many people saying 30x9.50x15 but how does that translate to the size I'm supposed to search?? I'm looking at like 235/75r15 which I think is about right... I found these Duelers on craigslist for $300 for all four http://houston.craigslist.org/pts/1778474120.html
Sounds like a good deal to me but, again, I'm not positive if this is the size I'm supposed to be looking for.
I'm not gonna be offroading or anything alot. Mainly just goin for looks since there isn't much to do here where I live :/ well, not that I know of yet. Haven't really looked :p

Wheel spacers - do I need em? If so what sizes? Remember, I'm gonna be riding on the stock swirlies for quite a while

Extended brake lines - Don't need em with 3" lift spindles... do I? I read somewhere about only needing them with more than a 3" lift...

Later on, after running this setup (and when I get more money), I'll do either a 2" body lift (cheap way!) or get moog 5664s, shocks, and an AAL. Then could I possibly fit 31s with different rims? I really really like the AR Torq thrusts... I don't know much about wheels :p

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated :D

As far as your old parts go, you probably won't find a buyer, I tried selling mine, I ended up taking them to a scrap yard. Unless you have the COMPLETE from spindle with bearings and brakes, most people don't want just stock spindles unless they were going back to stop from lifted or lowered. PICS?

Thems some little tires lol. Truck is looking good! What brand is the tool box?

As for pictures... Sign up on photobucket, flickr, or any other hosting site. Then copy and paste the IMG code of the pics you want into your post.

Got my tires installed :D
But i couldn't get 31s... or 30s.... 31s didn't fit at all. They rubbed on the lca while tryin to put em on and in the fender well thing
I got 235/75/r15s :p close enough to 30s and they don't rub at all
So I'm happy

I know how much we all love pics

And yes, that is a chihuahua standing on top of my toolbox :) Chico!
Anyways yeah the tires look awesome. It doesn't look as great and amazing in pictures but in person.. it's a completely different story lol
Now I want spacers and step bars (my girlfriend is really short :p)

I felt like taking off my front lower valance because I really like how Billsduster's truck looks

That thing was a serious PITA to take off without completely destroying it. I only destroyed a couple of those annoying screw thingys but if I do ever put it back on I'll just use zipties :p

I'd like to get some sort of light bar up front. I'll post up an example later

I'd invest the money your going to spend on a G80 gov-bomb towards a true locker. Powertrax lock-rite or no-slip are good units. When your turning a corner and off the gas they open and allow different wheel speeds like an open diff. But when you need both tires to spin they will, every time. The g80 isn't going to take much abuse. It requires one tire to start spinning before it locks. That sudden engagement is what breaks them.

If your not looking for a true locker I'd look into a clutch style limit slip differential. Limited slip is going to cost more then a lunchbox locker in the long run if you can't set gears yourself.

Niiiice
Diggin the driving lights in the grill

Would 2" spacers all around be good or would that look weird? Or should I stick with 1.25" front and 2.5" rear? I can get either combination for the same price
Since you have lift spindles, probably the 1.25" up front and 2.5" rear would be good. Here's mine with 1.5" rear spacers and none up front.

And a better side shot.

Yeah I was thinking of getting the soft 8's but spacers are easier (at least I think so) and I like my stock rims :p
like I said in my first post, I really like the American Racing Torq Thrust rims
But I'm pretty sure they're really expensive so I'll just save up for those later on
and they don't make those in 15" :/

go to www.summitracing.com and look up variety of rims that are 15x8 with 4" or less backspacing. You can save your money to get the set you want or you can go Long Travel to get wider stance.

Something in my suspension is very squeeky! I was hoping it would somewhat go away after a while of driving but no luck :/ it's been there since day one of the lift. Any idea what it could be? I'm thinking it's either my bushings or coils
Does it happen while it goes up and down, side to side or all time?

Also, refer to sticky for the lca caliper grind mod after spindle lift.

Aight will do! sometime this week

RANDOM NOTE:
my friend swapped a Ford 289 (bored 30 over) into his 87 Ranger! It's SICK!

He's runnin straight pipes and it is LOUD

But yeah I'll have somebody help me out with finding out where the annoying squeak of death is coming from. I've pretty much done it myself and it seems to be coming from like the top part of the coil? It sounds like rubber on rubber if ya know what I mean. Somethin like that

I got my spacers today!! Well only my rear ones :p I'll buy my front ones with my next paycheck (Wednesday) but the back of my truck actually looks like a truck now! No more sunken-in wheels! They're past the bed/fender by at least a good inch! (2.5" spacers btw)
1.5" for the front soon to come!
And yes, ONE DAY I will do the whole long travel thing for the front seeing as how I'm keeping this truck forever. Same with the V8 swap B)

Just grease every zerk you see. There is a thread somewhere up here that has several pictures of where every fitting is. It cant hurt to have it all lubed up.
