Long title I know.
98 2.2l manual 2wd. All a sudden started getting a buck once in awhile engine light came on. P0335. Replaced crank sensor, same issue, replaced pig tail to sensor, no change.
Now it will randomly stall usually under hard accel or abrupt maneuver but no engine light. Cranks over fine but will not start until you turn key off the back on.
Tried jumping fuel pump relay no change. Will crank but only fire up after key is cycled off. I've cleaned up every connection I can find. Have noticed low fuel light comes on and gauges reads empty usually when it happens. Tank is at 1/8 of a tank though.
Is there any grounds that are hard to find or known to have problems with. I couldn't find the frame ground usually by the fuel tank for fuel pump. And ran a jumper ground from batt to body but no change.
Other question is will a bad crank sensor randomly kill motor but allow it to restart after key is cycled.
