Ok I have a 92 s10 4.3 tbi auto 2wd. 200k miles. Lets start with cold. Cold idle is about 2000rpms and it doesn't kick down for atleast 60 seconds maybe more. When it warms up it runs great down the road until you hit a stop then it will idle rough then die. Occasionally wants to go from good idle in park to rough idle then die. But always starts right back up. But seams to flood out after it dies. I have replaced the iacv, coolent temp sensor on the intake, map, egr vac controller, checked egr for carbon, checked for vac leaks and cleaned entire throttle body. Injectors spay nicely to. So basically I'm stumped. It gives me a lean code every so often. Any help thanks

It sounds like the egr valve could be sticking open partially or you still have a vacuum leak. Those older motors did have a problem with egr valves. Another issue could be an internal leak inside the throttle body. You could go to a salvage yard and get another TB to see if it helps. I would get someone to scan it with a good scanner if you don't have one to try to pin point the problem before you spend anymore money.

Here's what I can figure out. It's not vacuum or timing. Buy as far as I can tell, when I wiggle the neutral safety switch on the steering column it cuts my eng. out or speeds up idle a bit. One side is hot/ground other side is reverse lights. If I unplug the power side not the lights it will just run bad and stumble. Why is this? I thought this was supposed to prevent the eng. from starting? But it doesn't plugged in or not? Just changes engine running conditions. The book or internet doesn't say a whole lot about this. Maybe someone knows from personal experience what this does?
