4.3L swap into '96 S10. I need answers!!!

I just pulled the stock 2.2L four-banger out of my '96 S-10. I'm considering dropping a '95 camaro 4.3L V6 into it, but I'm getting mixed comments from people. Some say it should drop right in, some say I'll need a new transmission, some say it won't work at all? Anyone with experience in this area who can give me some GOOD advice would be greatly appreciated.

Your Tranny Will Not Bolt Up To A 4.3 ...... So Dont Listen To Them.. Bellhousing On A 4.3 Is The Same Bolt Pattern As A Small Block Chevy But Those Are The Only Matches

If I am not mistaken didn't the camaro's come with the 3.4 motor for the v-6 for the 93 and up.

My thoughts exactly!!! If you have a 4.3 from a "camaro" it isn't stock to begin with. The 2.2 with performance upgrades isn't that bad of an engine, your front end is lighter and better on over priced gas anyway. Perpare to spend lots of $$$$ and hair pulling on that v6 swap. Think about if it is really worth it.

Thanks for the advice!

At this point, I've already gone ahead and pulled the 2.2 out, disassembled it, found the problem (worn rod bearings and rod caps) ordered parts, and started reassembly. All is going smoothly so far, and I can't wait for it to be finished!
