2nd compressor question

I am leaving in a few minutes to install my 2nd compressor. I am installing this under a Scion xB so my options are pretty limited. Can I run both compressors into one 1/4 T fitting and then into my watertrap and then into tank. I didn't know if running both compressors into a single T would be a problem or not.

Thanks,

Q: Is there a way to increase the flow rate of my compressors, and improve my compressors' performance as well?
A: When using an onboard air system with multiple compressors such as P/N 38002, always plumb each compressors's leader hose to separate tank port. Doing so will increase flow rate by up to 20%, which will also increase your system's level of performance.
It's from the Viair site. And I'm not sure, but I thought DJD did a test on this once also.

Ok this might be a stupid noob question, but I will ask it anyways. I didn't get to read this before I left. I have placed both compressors on the same relay. The 380s are only rated at like 16 amps, and the relay is a 40amp relay, so couldn't I just run both on the single relay? I actually just remembered that I didnt' replace the 30 amp fuse, so I am still running that and it has not popped. I have another relay if I need to change it, that is not a problem. When I saw the relay, I just figured it would be fine.

And something else, is it just me is or 2 pumps not much louder than one pump..it seems like they buzz in unison, and they don't seem that loud! lol This might be the crack kicking in though. Thanks again for yalls help.

You may be able to get away with the single relay. If you start popping the 30 amp fuse though, I would look into adding the 2nd relay and increasing the fuse size (pending on the wire size) . What size wire are you running and how long of a run is it?

It fills from 100 to 150 in just a nut hair more than a minute. It seems to work well. I wanted to run both compressors into a T so I could use one watertrap. It is one of the Parker pulsedrain watertraps, so I hope it works well and I don't have to empty 2 compressors worth of water ever week, lol.

I appreciate everyones help, this forum is friggen awesome!

There may be a slight increase in performance because of pulses, but if the check valves are in good shape, then you should be fine.

As far as the wiring goes. 4 ga is great for 2 380's. The only thing I would consider is if, and only if, you do start popping fuses, upgrade the fuse to 60 amps, then split the line off to a pair of relays and then fuse those links at 30 amps. You'd be good with a couple 480s at that point. You can run 8 ga after the split as well.
