My 93 GMC Sonoma occasionally will not start. I've replaced the plugs, plug wires, distributor cap and rotor button. After I did this 1 weekend ago, it's been starting fine then, today, after work, it wouldn't start again. Any idea what I can try next?

It's been doing this for about a month or so now. Not starting occasionally. IF I wait a couple hours, it starts back up again.

I'm going nuts!!!!

I had a similar problem in my 99 s-10, I found it to be the wire harness going to the fuel pump, the connections had corrosion on them and also 1 of the plugs went bad, 1 of the wires in it was all like melted so it was not making a good connection. I got a new end at NAPA for like ~$15 and soldered it on. I cleaned the other one up and haven’t had the problem since.

Check to see if you fuel pump is priming when you have the prob, also you can buy a bottle of carb cleaner and spray it in the throttle body, if the tuck starts for like 5 sec then dies you know its fuel not making it to the engine and might be like I said above.

My truck used to not start randomly and sometime I let it sit for 20 min it start, sometimes it need like 2hrs. Was kind of random, took me 2 months to figure it out. I have 2 cars so it was ok but yea…. Also is the security light on in your dash? If so it is a separate prob I can tell you about. Since it took me awhile to figure out my prob I learned a lot about the truck LOL

Well, this should be in the first gen section, but either way. When it won't start, does it just crank continuously or does it not turn over at all. If it won't crank at all, then it's possbile your battery connections are bad. Or the starting is acting up.

I have a 2002 Chevy S10 with the V6 in it. I have replaced the cap rotor spark plugs coil and wires, and mine will run fine for a while. But then it will just start miss firing, the code it throws is random multiple cylender miss fire. And then once I turn it off it won't start for 30 mins to 2 hours. It will just roll over and not start. When I checked the fuel rail there was gas that squrited out with air too :/ So, anyone have any ideas? Are there 2 problems or is this related? I also have a 3rd problem but don't think it has anything to do with this. I got this truck at 98000 and it is up to 149000 I have put these miles on it in this year alone. And the entire time I have had my Dex cool just disapper. It's not the head gasket cause there the oil isn't milky or anything. and I can't find any leaks anywhere, Is it burning off? I don't know. Any ideas about anything would be helpful. I am out of ideas and do not know what I should check next. Also where is that plug that goes bad? Is it at the fuel pump or under the hood?
