Looks good. Btw, what did you use for the lower radiator hose?

nice! I like the colors and all you used. They really show off the motor well, cept for that baby blue cap! Change it!

damn
nice
i'm jealous of the 5spd

i see we have the same spark plug wire routing though!
headers are a BITCH

how do you plan to change your plugs when the time comes?

thats nice man, looks just like mine too. same color and chrome. we should race sometimes haha. keep up the good work.

straight plugs are a dream to do in anything....get a set of angle plugs and let the blood/tears flow. i got good enough to do them in my cutlass with hooker supercomps in about 45 minutes. now just wait until i get it all crammed into the sonoma i bought....who wants to help???

i used the one in the jtr book. it is a upper hose from a 1987-1991 ford f-150 truck with a 5.0 v-8. it was cut and joined with a 1 1/2 hose coupler. and a 1 1/2 to 1 1/4 hose reducer to fit my vette radiator.
sounds like a lot but i picked up every thing at the local parts store and it works great.

yeah that exhaust should sound pretty mean... and i think it'll be pretty loud in the cab if you turn them down before the rearend... but i don't know what other options you might have wanted to go with... I'm still trying to decide what i'm going to go with, but i've had a loud exhaust note in the cab before... and it gets annoying when i'm on my cell phone and stuff.. turning up the radio always worked... but it gets old... I think i'll do whatever the muffler shop suggests I to do (i.e. whatever's cheapest while still using flowmasters)

I have that same setup and yes it sounds mean! :D It is loud, but I like it. Gotta crank the stereo up a little bit to hear the music. It sounds great though especially at wide open throttle. I ended up doing it myself since no exhaust shop around here would do it without cats.

Looks great BTW.

Here are a few pics of my exhaust.

no it is a 307 60 over 315 cubic inches. with 416 305 heads 58 cc. and block zero decked with flat top pistons. with good valve springs and a melling cam.
i bought the motor as a long block from a machine shop.
as to what it came out of i do not really know. old malibu or a truck ??

hey man, it looks good, but a word of advice, take out the headers and get them coated before you go driving anywhere...... it says right on the box that the Headman Headers come in...... if you dont coat them, they will get hot spots and they will rust after a week! there is nothing worse than a rusty set of headers to make the engine look bad...... eventhough the coating coasts about the same as the headers, if not more, it is def worth it! they gaurentee it for life and it will help with HP cause it keeps the temps the same the whole way through. take a look at my headers, they really look nice with the coating i think! also, if you do get them coated get them done inside and out! www.cardomain.com/id/trucky350

How long do you expect that tranny to last?
who knows, maybe you do!

this is the second s-10 v-8 i have built with the nv3500 tranny and the 1st one is stiil going fine 3 years, and has more motor than my present truck.
why is it every one is scared to use this tranny. every v-8 s-10 i have seen has a automatic (real hot rods have a clutch) this is the same tranny that comes in a full size truck with a v-8 and 5 speed.

i dunno about your quote about real hot rods have a clutch...... how many drag cars have you seen with a standard????? my truck is an automatic with a shift kit and slap shifter....... it def shifts quicker than any standard out there..... no matter who drives the thing. but if you are saying that they are more fun to drive, well you also gotta look at it as the auto can be driven just like a standard and then can also be the lazy man tranny when ever you want....... i have around 430 hp in my truck, and i would def not call my truck boring to drive with the auto!

drag warriors have autos... real cars have a clutch.

I could afford to put a T-56 into my swap but that's too much money for me to spend on a transmission, it'd nearly double the cost of the swap!

lets not turn this into a auto vs manual debate

Just wondering as I've seen hard driven 4.3s eat NV3500s. Got another question for ya though. You said 335hp..whats the tq?

well i guess you know everything now that you have a v8 in your truck.......
