need help with timing

i was reading this months CHP, and it was talking about cheap performance mods, and i saw the advance timing kit with lighter than stock distributor springs. I just ordered it today, and was wondering if anyone knows anything about this and if it will work.

it might but it will take a bit of work to get it right
might be better to just advance the timing

and also, about how much do you think it would help power and acceleration wise?

all depends on how radical you wanna go and how much you wanna compromise. You might get more low end , but less upper end or crappy gas mileage
