HI everyone, Im 17 and in high school i go to a votec school for autobody im in the 1st year.

and i have a ton of questions if any one can help me !!

I have a Really Old 1987 ( i think ) Chevy s-10 and i needs alot of work I can do the body work but i need help with the other things ..I'm trying to get it to my school so I can work on it but I need help with the electrical wiring for it because it is not right ,and I don't know what to do?
replace all of the wiring or just some of it. And I'm having problems with the Fuel pump. so my dad cut a hole in the back of the bed in order to mess with the pump .. we have tried to replace it with a used one and they just keep going ... I know it sounds like I should just get a new truck but it was my grandfathers and he gave it to my dad when he rebuilt his 39 ford.. ( it is wicked hot) and my grandfather is no longer living and i don't want to let the truck sit any more because my mom wants to send it to the junk yard. and it will give me somthing to do this summer when I'm not working .. thanks if you can help if not that is ok too .. leave your comments .. thanks
Lacey

Another Truck Chick

I think thats realy cool you want to fix up that truck, and hey now, isnt that truck the same age as you. how often do the fuel pumps go? they just stop working? i cant think of anything off the top of my head, but ill do a little research, what size engine in it?

good luck with the project.... make sure to keep pics posted.... i really cant help you though. and welcome to the forum. its good to see that there are girls out there interested in trucks, especially gettin their hands dirty to build one.

S10 fuel pumps go out every once in awhile check the fuel pump relay.fuel filter, the strainer/sock on the pump, and check the wiring to the pump. check spark and fuel.

hi guys thanks, well im home so im working on it .. umm i talked to my dad and we are re doing all the electrical .. and why did i cut a hole in the back so that why i could un hook the wires from the pump and re connect them .. and it is a Chevy Sonoma .. 87 i think .. i asked my dad and i forgot lol .. umm we have droped the tank and replaced it .. i guess now i have to cut the bed out from wheel well to wheel well and gate to top .. cuz we are putting soming else in .. that is hot .. i have to replace the end corners .. im buying new fenders for both sides .. and we are puttin the role pan on the tale gate .. im doing all of the body work from prep the paint .. so go me .. then when me and my dad gets some money we are going to buy a fuel cylinder... and what not .. we plan to hopfull have it done by the summer of my 18th b-day which is next summer .. lol

Thanks for everything you were all a big help and if you can give me some tips on any thing that has to do with body work im all up for grabs thanks
