you have to unplug the timing wire to time the engine properly.

Unplug the tan wire with the brown stripe.

Adjust and time the vehicle.

Reconnect wire.

Reset the computer by pulling the negative perminal off the battery for 10 minutes.

Where is the tan wire with a brown stripe? i was checking in the engine compartment all around the distributor and didnt see any like that.

it connects to the computer which is under the glove box.

You might have to pull the carpet up a tad to see it.

it's behind the carpet on the passenger side, you will see it coming out of the grommit on a connector...
