My 94 was the same way but it's not hard to fix. What happen and why you can fix it by jiggling the wires is this. The board gets hot, hot enough to melt the solder, you jiggle it, it makes contact until it melts again. A lot of the time people bend their plug a little, then more and more until it breaks. You can get the pulse board for like $45 at advance auto parts or any other store. They are refurbed and have a lifetime warrenty if I'm not mistaken (used to be a manager). Simple fix, you'll just need a tox head to take the cover/board out. It might take an hour total if you can't find the tools and have to stop to pee. However, I prefer to take things apart that don't work (don't work, can't break it right?) and double check it. Hit some power to the motor (gotta take the cowling off, that sucks) and make sure the motor isn't shot, also available at any parts store.
