I have been searching around, and asking many questions, but today, I finally started the tear down process of my 2002 2 door, 2 wheel drive blazer. I bought it on Wednesday, and started on friday, gotta love it!:D The blazer will under-go a stockfloor bodydrop fit for a 20/22 combo from the fellas over at barely legal fabrication, the air management is still being pieced together, as well as everything else. Plans are to have it road worthy by next spring/early summer! I will post some pictures once I get the camera up an running. Its been a while, but I am glad to be back to the mini scene. I will be asking many questions, and requesting a lot of help, so bear with me!

taylor, you rock! Avdime, I originally was going to go with a 22 in the rear, so I believe thats how they designed it. I ended up going with 20s if you remember from earlier in the thread, maybe we'll step it up later in the future, for now, 20s will do.

Are you guys designing these link setups or just putting them together where they end up?

i was kind of wondering the same thing. It seemed to me that if i was going to do a 4 link with bag on bar i would want to do some kind of lift ratio. At full lift on those bags (exactly the same if the bags were on the axle or behind) the ride will be super rigid.

dont get me wrong it looks awesome but i dont see how the axle isn't going to move side to side when the bushings start to wear...

just my 2 cents

gosh, I feel bad, I still havent posted pictures, I will try my hardest to get them this afternoon. The girlfriends camera will do the trick, as I lost the charger for mine...:rotf:

come on now guys, dont doubt the builder!!! ( I am going to try to post new pictures tomorrow, but as you've seen, my trying often fails! ) everyone take it easy!

I'm not doubting anyone. My questions was simple.

Does he build these on paper/CAD first or does he physically sit there and play around until he finds something he likes.

It's pretty easy to see the triangulation, shit it's got twice as much as my three link and mine works fine.
i wasnt talking about you dman! your question was "a ok" and I wasnt giving anybody a hard time, just having fun!

LOL

jeesh, what an question.

Yes, everything is drawn up in CAD and BendTech before its made, the frame the link, the control arms everything.

Riche has been doing 4-links like that for about 4 years now, the first one he installed with bent triangulation bars like that has been on the road for over 20,000 miles, and his has yet to wear out, or show any signs of wear like that. Your theroy is alittle off, and i guess it would depend on what you meant in your timetable.

I dont know why most people on here, or auctually, only a select few, seem to think that everything done is just taken at a shot in the dark, hoping it will work. LOL , Ill say it very clearly, if these designs didnt work, we would not use them, plain and simple. These are designs and methods that have been proven BY US, not by taking other peoples words or just thinking it will.....these are designs that are on the road right now, on vehicles that riche has built in the past years, that work every day.

The rear didnt need a ton of lift since it was going to be limited by its shocks, we placed teh bag thare so that everything would stay under the notch and have no clearance issues, it gets enough lift to untuck a 22 if needed, which is all the customer requested.

i appriceate both your concern jerid and doug, it shows were atleast doing something right. hopefully i answered your concerns above.

have a good one!

you def answered the questions. I just haven't seen the 4 link's like the one above on a vehicle so i was unsure if it was going to work. I was more looking at 6 points on the axle...it seems that if this dude had any thoughts on side to side (in which i seriously doubt he will anyway) that 6 points on an axle will bind.

you guys do excellent work as far as being clean as possble and taylor i think that your frame was an excellent idea...i guess I PERSONALLY wouldn't do it the way that you guys did only for rigidity.

My question was more of creativity question then a "will it work." Just trying to figure how some of the bigger names in the business do it. Where I work every single thing is designed and tested virtually before anything else. But sometimes it's cool so sit around a frame and just toss ideas around in the real world. That's all i was wondering. No harm meant.

alright everybody, as I approach reassembly time, I have an opinion to ask of you. The front of the truck, I will be upgrading the headlights, corner lights, and probably putting in a billet grille, whatever. For the bumper, what do you think would be fitting? I like the SS grille, the one that looks like the trailblazer SS, but have heard it doesnt fit well.. I could go with stock, but wont it need some sort of valence to go on it in order to completely lay out in front?

How about the smoothy that grant sales? You can get it in any length so it can lay out and then have some lights frenched into it. There is a red and black 2 dr blazer layed out to the doors with it and it looks really good i'll try and find a pic for you.
