Fieros are great I helped turbo charge my friends 84 Iron Duke.
But about the Vette vs Fiero thing... Fieros were supposedly cut because they are prone to bursting into flame so easy, which I will believe because the 84 burst into flame in my front yard, and his 86 went up in flames at his house, could have been bad luck or could have been the Fiero Curse.

That isn't the reason it was put out of commission. Very few Fieros ever caught fire and was just an ugly rumor. It was a fault on very few of the cars where the weather stripping wasn't placed right and leaked onto the electricals causing an electrical fire. Your friend was one of the unfortunate ones then.

As for opinions. As with most other things, opinions should have a reason and therefore I expected one. Is there anything worng with that?

The only reason I posted the stuff on the Fiero was because of your comment on prototypes and the fact me getting one ended the reason for this thread which seems to have turned from one subject to another.

Why must you be insulting of someone elses appreciation for automobiles that you don't find to be something you like? I happen to like a broad amount of different vehicles from trucks to sports cars to motorcycles, foreign and domestic. And I felt the need to explain why I wasn't doing this project anymore. And then you go and insult the vehicle that I have chosen to work on merely because you don't have the same appreciation for cars that I do.

So please, if you will, keep your non-explained opinions and snide remarks to yourself and go bother some other thread.

 

Do they make turbo kits for 3.4s?

It really doesn't matter you can turbocharge pretty much any engine. It just matters how much boost the engine can take, the engine's internals and if the engine compartment, unless going the remote turbo route, is big enough to fit the turbo and its accessories.

Hmm... Funny... I'm 6 feet tall medium build and I find the Fiero to be quite comfortable actually. Only reason I could think that it would be uncomfortable is if your horizontally challenged aka. FAT. And so what I heave a regular cab S10 and I have more head room in the Fiero. And even more foot space. Beside's most people who want a sports car is because it's sleek and sexy and FAST. Nobody wants a sports car that looks like a frickin tank.

 

well.. personlay... i have always wanted a fiero... i thought they were kinda like the American mini lambo. Ill probly never find one, but i wouldn't mind it. and hell.. thow a v8 in and call it real american muscle. BUt im 17 and have 3 vehicles.. so im overloaded already. :-/

 

You can find them fairly cheap and think about a turbocharged V8 in one of those... it'd fly.

that fiero is badass. i don't know about the truck. it looks pretty good. the wider axles and tires are good. but widebody kits belong on Jap cars.

umm... not to start another argument.. but I believe that wide body kits actually evolved from the fender flares which you know to give a wider effect to the body and to cover the tires. And fender flares originally came from off road vehicles mainly being trucks.

That is frickin awesome. Not lookin to do a rebody though. Although I'd like to see more pics of that if you know where to find them.

As for what I was going to do as I said earlier I was going to have my axles widened and make a wide body for my truck to increase handling and give it a more aggressive look. However, as I also said before, I am not going to do this anymore for the reason that I am getting a Fiero GT, a car my dad once had, and a dream car that I've always wanted since he got rid of his. And as of now most of my money will be going towards customizing the Fiero. The rest will be used to do a quick paint job on my truck to keep it from rusting further after I get all the current rust off and perhaps a lowering kit. Other than that my truck will be my daily driver and the Fiero will be my weekend ride.
However, for those that may be interested I will still do the CAD drawings I promised, but I've decided only to continue working on the drawing if enough people showed a genuine interest in what the truck might look like with a widey body such as that on the Colorado pictured before.

Hmm... I did find one thing I didn't like about this car though. It has a kickass Northstar 4.9L V8, but look at the gay ass exhaust. Wonder what the hell that would sound like. I mean it's to big to sound like a weed wacker. SO what does it sound like?

Dont get me wrong I love Fieros if I could find a good condition knotchback Id buy it in a heartbeat and do the 3800 Supercharged swap, but the 'rumor' was that they set on fire and two of them that I know just so happened to do that.

The fact is, is that there was such a small amount of Fieros that caught fire there weren't nearly enough cases for a recall. Which is like, if the defect is found in at least 3% of the manufactured vehicles for that year.

I think it's way more practical to have a low ass truck than a super fast car. Not to dis on sick ass muscle cars and powerful driving machines..... it's just that when can you really take it THAT fast?? I know..... yeah you can speed up to get to the next stoplight that much faster, or get onto the freeway nice and quick. Yessssss!! But when are you ever going to be taking corners at 40 MPH and cuttin through traffic on the Freeway? If you do that now, you probably won't for long once you have X amount of speeding tickets and your insureance is $400 or way more a month. Personally I use what my truck is made for every single day. It turns head, makes people smile, does so at reasonble speeds, and sounds really loud (stereo) while I am doing it. I just think dropping 10 G's or however much on a fast ass car that can beat any other fast cars ass, is like putting hella money into a truck that is soooo tall with tires sooooo big that guzzles sooo much gas, that you never want to take it out, even 4-wheeling, cuz it's too nice. That's just my $0.02 rant.

It actually sounds pretty badass. He was at the nasty habits show last year, in like september or october or something. I spent a good 20 minuites llooking at it. it looks alot better in person. very nicely done car.

Has nothing to do with me being blind or unable to read, for that matter. It has everything to do with the fact that you don’t know how to type... First post, you’re talking about cad drawings of an s10... Then you go to posting shit about a wide body Colorado, and now you’re talking about v8 fieros and shit. Why not state your intentions when you post? If you plan on somehow morphing a fiero to an s10, Why not say it? Why beat around the bush and go on for pages rambling about thins other than your "project". The only time i had ever seen anything about combining the fiero with the s10, Was when themostoriginal mentioned it. Rather than accusing people of not knowing how to read, Maybe you should learn how to type in logical paragraphs.

 

I will tell you that colorado will NEVER out handle a vette you are out of your mind on that one........ pfft
