Make sure you make a special trip to my house in Killen Alabama while you get that car. I wanna see what it's made of. :D
I know you'll have fun man. Enjoy the car and try to be careful. Also i have to warn you. F-bodies aren't known to be comfortable. They ride like a train wagon. But fun as hell to drive. Also doesn't hurt to look cool as hell either. :p

That won't be hard. Just don't put your foot in it all the time. I know that's hard to imagine, but it won't be once you have to pay to replace them. And you really don't want to put used ones on that car.

lol true but i think if i do rims instead of a staggared fitment i'm gonna do the same size all around so i can rotate if needed. I think the only time i'm really gonna need to worry about spinning is at the strip, too po' to afford drag radials =/. But it's got the stall so that should help alot on launching

guy said he's feelin kinda on the fence about the trade... i'm so mad right now i can barely contain myself. I can't believe how this guy is acting like he's gonna back out of a trade after he's already committed and looking up places to meet and shit... what the hell man...

i just cant shake this feeling tho. if the guy does come thru i just have this itch in the back of my head of what else could have possibly happened when he threw that rod. He said the only damage was in the block which he was gonna replace along with forged crank rods and pistons, after fixing the oil sending unit because thats why he threw the rod in the first place, and that he'd install the new tranny cause the other one was questionable, but i just cant help but think if something else went wrong and if its gonna come back and bite me in the ass...

Are you sure that you want to do it now? It's starting to sound like that car was beat on more than it deserved to be. I know that they were built to drive hard, but even a Camaro can be driven too hard. Good luck with it though.

i mean yea im sure the previous owner got on it more than a few times but honestly i would'nt expect anything less from a camaro. but he found the source of the problem was the oil sending unit so he's replacing it and replacing the block with forged internals. I think once it's rebuilt it's gonna be a monster. not to mention the new tranny with stall and shift kit.

man as much money as i'm puttin into this thing you would think i was keeping it. I remember some of you telling me about your fuel pumps going bad. How did the truck act when that happened? Cause mine wouldn't start today and i had to hitch a ride to and from work. I put the key in and put my foot on the break, turn it over and it just sit there and turns and turns and turns but never cranks. Today it actually cranked for a second then shut off on me. It's done that to me like three times in the past 2 months. Sometimes it also cuts off when i put it in reverse...but if the fuel pump was bad, wouldn't it not crank up at all? Cause it cranks up some days and some days it doesn't. Could it be possible that the fuel pump isn't exactly bad yet but is just malfunctioning?

My stepdad has a theory that it's the alarm system malfunctioning since it has the remote start and is hooked up to the fuel line and ignition. I think it's possible but i'm hoping that's not the problem, i really don't feel like having to disconnect the alarm system from the many components it's hooked up to. I'm pretty sure the stock alarm is still hooked up, it has gone off a few times and doesn't stop until i start the truck up. Is it possible to buy a stock keyless entry remote and have it still control the locks and alarm?

2 seconds from having this thing picked up by a tow truck and hauled to a scrap yard... wont even start long enough for me to get it to my buddies garage to change the fuel pump, if the damn thing would even come!!!

Damn man, I have the same problem with my truck. One day I never got my truck to crank. Next day ir fires right up like nothins wrong. A few times while a was at school mine wouldnt crank, then a few hours later it will like nothings wrong with it. Mine is similar sometimes when i put it in reverse it dies on me. A few times just driving down the road it just died on me,but it fired right back up. I have an alarm with remote start and i thought it may have something to do with it so I never use it to start it up. When I try to it wont start and then when I go to start it with the key it wont start up. It usually will after you let it sit for awhile. Sounds like yours is worse than mine since mine is sparatic when it happens. Ive been aiming to change my fuel pump for a few years now because the gas hand doesnt work but havent done it yet. Hell I even had a replacment pump but sold it to my cousin because his actually quit working. My uncle said its easy to change. Im like you Id like to know what is causing this.

i dont think it's the alarm, i think it's the fuel pump. We turned the truck off and on several times and didn't hear a sound from the fuel pump, and the is no pressure in the fuel lines. I ordered a new one this past monday and it said 2-3 day shipping guaranteed, and still no fuel pump... so somebody is getting bitched at on monday.

Another question, anyone know what the name of the little plunger like rod peice is called that sits under the little panel that you see when you open the door on the side of the dash? The one that works when you close the door, it recognizes that the door has been shut, mine broke off. Anyone know where to get it?

Thats what it was on my cousins truck that I sold mine to. You could turn the key over and you wouldnt even hear the fuel pump buzzing that you always hear on these trucks. He got real lucky that it went out right close to his house. I hope when mine does it im at home. I guess its only a matter of time before mine does it the way it acts.
