i'm having a pain in the a$$ problem with my dime. I pulled the dash and all the wiring harnesses, moved the fuse box inside the dash and the brain on the firewall, cut out all the airbag sensors and wires and some of the a/c stuff,(no more a/c) my problem is that i'm putting back together and the damn thing wont run. it starts and runs for like 2secs then shuts back off. WHAT COULD CAUSE THIS? vaccume? wire? sensors? PLEASE HELP i miss draggin

chances are this is the built in security systems s10's have. The computer monitors all electrical devices if anyone of them is tampered with it cuts off power to the fuel pump. My guess is that you have wired something up wrong and your security feature is kicking in and shutting off the fuel pump. I'm sorry I don't know how to fix it, but I really believe this might be your problem. Someone might disagree with me, but I have read about this same problem happening before.
kinda helps if you tell us what year and engine you have.
Have you doubled checked the fuel pump ground?? Make sure all the wires from the computer, if you extended them, are intact.

im 99.5% sure it has something to do with the fuel pump, or something related to it, such as your passlock module.
passlock is your factory anti theft system. when you try to start the truck, does your security light do anything?
I FOUND THE PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its that damn passlock module. i unpluged b/c i took out all the a/c stuff and moved that module and i guess unpluging it triggered it cause thats the problem. i'm having somebody come out and reprogram the whole damn thing , b/c i guess thats the only way to fix it. unless somebody knows how to bypass it
