i have a 1993 blazer with the cpi 4.3. after it runs for a bit the oil pressure drops and it dies. after it sits for a few minutes after it dies, it starts right up and runs fine for a few minutes before the problem repeats. some days it doesnt die at all, some days it dies alot.

What weight of oil are you running? How many miles? Have you tried to verify oil pressure? Changed the OP switch?

well it dies because the fuel pump oil pressure switch cuts power to the pump, in which is its job to do.

probably is defective oil switch

try another one

they dont last forever

Oil pressure switch doesnt cut power to pump, it just closes when oil pressure developes to engage pump along with fuel pump relay which is ECM controlled as a backup.
