You don't need them. They are a waste of money unless you get long tubes. They only make long tubes for up to 1993 but they will fit your truck with minor modification.

 

I didnt "need" the majority of stuff ive done to my truck. That doesnt mean that I dont want them. What kind of modification are you talking about?

 

You have to grind down the control arm to fit them. If you have tubular control arms you won't have to worry about it.

I am just telling you this because I have JBA shorties and they are a waste of money if you ask me. I would never do them again either. They take 6-8hrs to install and do absolutely nothing. Shorties are only worth it if you can get them under $200.

Those look like the same ones I have. If they are, It's Edelbrock part# 67083.

Be careful to make sure you order the right ones. I pulled up that link and those are for the 4x4 model not the 2wd if you have 2wd you will need to find the other part# for the 2wd version.

Never realized they were more of a mid length header, I may have to try them out.

 

I have those edelbrock's on my truck as well. Not too bad of an install. (94 4.3 tbi)

You are smoking crack if you think any stock exhaust manifold flows better than a set of headers!!

Keep hitting the pipe and you will be ok!

better performance for sure. sound i dont know because i have no cat and a thrush muffler. as for stock manifolds flowing better than headers..... sure believe what you want :rotf: the part # is edl 68543 or edl 68343 for my 2wd 94 sonoma and heres a link that has them both. difference is if you have a manual or a auto. 68343 is for a manual and the 68543 is for an auto and they are both for a 2wd

I have no cat and a 40 series muffler. Did you notice any sound difference with ur exhaust after the headers?

 

Hell yeah. Definitely sounds much better with headers that is for sure. I have the JBA's with a magnaflow high flow cat and a 40 series and it sounds awesome.

 

yes sounds beafier and way better, especially uncapped at the track. just got back today and it sounded really good upcapped

hell yeah, took me a whole day to just get them on but i didnt half ass it i wanted to do it right

 

FK... if I'm gonna install headers, they're gonna be equal length. One tube fired draws vacuum for the next one, and so forth.
