get you a long tailshaft 350 ,put a shift kit in and if ýou got it in your budget ,get you a summit stall convertor with about 200/2200 stall and you will have the blast of your life.

Yeap,the splines are the same

Just make sure you get the tranny with the 9inch tailshaft and if you have a regular cab truck everything should work just fine.

 

im curious , hows the t5 holding up with the v8? do you have a 305 or a 350. I really want a manual in my truck,but idno what can handle the v8 power.. i really dont have much money to spend either..

 

The t-5 will hold up fine as long as you don't do high rpm launches and quick shifts. If you drive normally it will be fine. I've had two camaros with t-5s. I broke the shift fork in one cause I used to drag race the car a lot. The second one I had held up fine, even after I put a 350 in it, but I did drive it as hard. The guy I sold it to drives it hard once and a while and it is still holding up. The most common thing that breaks is the 3-4 shift fork and it is fairly easy to replace. If I had a set of clutch pedals, I would have a t-5 in my truck right now.

It all depends on the driver. Just don't expect to drive it like a muncie or t-10.

Definately hydraulic, The clutch cable style doesn't work too well.
